Jagruti Palak Sanstha (JPS) Thane is a parent organization for people with intellectual challenges and disabilities. JPS Thane was founded in 2002. Over the past 20 years, it has grown into a vibrant institution and self-help group. There are currently 197 such members, most of whom are drawn from the lower income segments of society. JPS Thane has brought under one roof all parents of intellectually challenged persons with incomplete development of mind with sub normality of intelligence to secure their future and to empower them to face Mental Retardation, Autism, Cerebral Palsy & other Multiple Disabilities. Currently JPS Thane is operating from four temporary rented rooms made available by Thane Municipal Corporation at the above-indicated address. The following core activities form the current focus of the association

Non residential Rehab center accommodating 50 special children taking care from 10.30 a.m. to 03.30 p.m. from Monday to Saturday

Guidance on Legal Guardianship to parents located in Thane Dist. as a prime member of committee on Legal Guardianship of Govt. of Maharashtra.

Registration under Niramaya Health Insurance Scheme of all parents on All India basis as a Nodal Agency.
